DEFINITIONS -
- Keyed alike - all locks can be opened by the same key
- Keyed different - all locks have a unique key which only opens that lock
- Master keyed - all locks can be opened by a master key in addition to their own key. The master key is typically reserved for management or facilities personnel.
- Grand master keyed - multiple-level master key system consisting of one or more master key groups under one grand master key. Master and grand master keys are typically reserved for management or facilities personnel.
- Non key retaining - key removabile in locked or unlocked positions
- Key retaining - key removable in locked position only
